My husband has an opportunity in his work to move to France beginning of the year.
We will follow him several months later.

I need to learn basic conversationa l French because in 2014 I will be travelling by car and light aircraft through France on a touring holiday with my husband. He speaks some French but finds it tiring to do all the translating. I will need to learn some basic terms in aviation too.
I am a total beginner but have spent a few holidays in France so am aware of some of the words used. I would need to begin in January 2013 and temporarily conclude at the end of May 2013 and re-commencing in October 2013 through to end of May 2014. (We live overseas for some of each year)
I would envisage one lesson per week of maximum of 1.5hrs because I don't think I could usefully absorb much more than that in a lesson. I am prepared to do arranged homework/exer cises and if she has some phrases on an audio cassette tape I would listen to it. Particularly as
The qualities I need in a teacher are: Patience, tolerance, clarity & sense of humour. I have read the feedback on Cathlin Deck and feel that she is an ideal match for my requirements and background.
