I have a Japanese boyfriend and I am very interested in learning more of the culture, also communicating with him better. I will start at beginner level because I only know a few words in Japanese. I am looking to see a teacher about one to two times a week with 1 hour sessions. I would like my teacher to speak fluent Japanese and to also be of Japanese ethnicity. I want my teacher to be friendly, outgoing, and go at my learning pace.

I had a nanny from Tokyo when I was very little who would teach me Japanese while babysitting me, she left while I was still at a young age to pursue college and I dont remember any of it. I've decided I'd like to enter into the JET Programme as a CIR and I need fluency in the Japanese langauge, I'd also like to major in Japanese and Japanese literature, I've also just felt this connection with Japanese since it would have been my second language had my nanny of stayed. I'm really determined to have Japanese become my second language and to really learn about Japanese culture.
