I have traveled to Italy three times, with a friend who speaks Italian fairly well. Now, I want to take my family and I want to learn enough basic Italian to guide us through the experience. I can't take a formal class because I have a two year old and no babysitter for the evenings (When my husband is at work). I would like to have a private tutor so that we can make our own hours. I can spend quite a bit of time on this endeavor, just not at a regularly set class time each week. I need help with my pronunciation -- I feel very inhibited in using the Italian I know.

I want to learn Italian because it has always been a language that I've wanted to be able to speak. My family is Italian, and it has been unfortunate that the language has not been passed down from our parents. I want to be able to keep it in my family and in my life.
I am a fast learner and I learn best in person and through conversation rather than studying through books.. I want to be able to speak and understand it rather than consistently study the rules of the language so in depth.

- I would like to learn as I happen to travel around Europe as part of my job requirements, and it seemed that many people across Europe happen to speak Italian. My second language is Arabic and I rarely happen to come across people who can communicate well in either English or Arabic specially in Germany- as I work for a German company.
- My level is definately a beginner. Have never been exposed to the Italian language before.
- I would like to concentrate on convesations for sure. However, I do not know if learning grammar first would actually help with picking conversations faster.
- I would say about 4 to 5 hours per week!
