I am a beginner. I lived in Japan for a few years when I was a child, but I did not retain the language. I would like to learn Japanese for mostly conversationa l purposes. My sister is marrying into a Japanese family and I would like to be able to communicate with them at the wedding and when I visit.
I would like to have a 1-3 hours a week dedicated to learning the language. I am content to learn Japanese in exchange for money, or if the teacher is a Japanese student, I would be happy to exchange English conversation tutoring as well.

I am going to Japan in May for a year and would like to learn as much Japanese as I can before I leave. I am a beginner in Japanese and would like to gain some oral communication ability in Japanese. I am looking for lessons anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week for about a couple of hours per each session. I am looking for a teacher that will be patient with my low level in the language and can explain basic concepts to me.

I studied Japanese for two years in high school but that was 10 years ago. I want to get back to learning it because Ienjoy the language and the culture. I remember most of the hiragana and katakana but could use review. I need to build vocabulary and get practice listening to the language.
I can probably meet once or twice a week. I am looking for a native speaker to teach me.
