I am looking to either take a class or have a private teacher to help me learn Japanese. I am definitely a beginner; however, I know some basic conversationa l Japanese, and can recognize a few kanji and most hiragana/kata kana. I woud like to be able to meet at least once a week. I would prefer to have a native speaker of Japanese teach me, but it is not necessary. I am currently 16 (a sophomore in high school); I am very interested in Japanese and languages in general (I'm taking a French class at the moment), and I will work hard to learn everything I can about Japanese!

I am a beginner trying to learn Japanese. My interest is purely for fun, but I intend to become fluent after years of study and practice. At this point I'm casually seeking an inexpensive personal tutor who can guide me, give me homework, answer my questions, and generally be a mentor as I learn the basics of the language. My ideal tutor would give me many things to work on in between our meetings. I have already memorized the Hiragana, and I am working on the Katakana and some Kanji. Still, I need lots of work, especially in vocabulary, and Kanji. I'm willing to dedicate as much time as possible to really get ahead in the language. Thanks! :)

I took 3 semesters of Japanese in college and would really like to advance my studies, hopefully becoming proficient in this language. My third semester was the final beginner level class. I would like to improve upon all areas of the language and learn more about the culture as well. I would like to spend at least one day a week with a teacher, for perhaps 2 hours or so. I would like a teacher who is patient, but persistent with learning.
