I've had 2+ years of formal academic instruction in Modern Standard Arabic from 2001-2003. I have also been self-studying with my old class materials and with Rosetta Stone software since 2003. I recently returned from Iraq where I was deployed for a year in Baghdad, where I had the opportunity to practice with several interpreters, as well as on the streets. I recently took the DLPT and scored a 1/0+, which I hope to improve on. My biggest weaknesses are vocabulary development, speaking and listening comprehension . I am better at reading, writing and translating written text.
I want to learn Arabic in order to expand my capacity for working with Arab-speaking peoples on future deployments, as well as to make myself more marketable for other security-rela ted government positions with a need for fluency in Arabic.
I am willing to devote a minimum of 5 hours per week to studying Arabic. All I need really is real-world practice at speaking and listening, learning new words, and some coaching on some common sentence constructions and grammar.

Hello! My name is Jenny. I am interested in being bilingual in Spanish. My current level is advanced. The main aspect that I lack is a little bit of vocabulary, coupled with a lack of verbal practice. I want to be fluent in Spanish for business purposes. I am beginner in Mandarin, Chinese. I would like to learn Mandarin because I have always had an appreciation for the language and culture of China since I was a kid. I would like for my lessons to have a conversationa l approach, but I would also like to learn how to write the Kanjis. I would like to have two or three lessons per week, but it would leave the frequency up to the instructor. I am looking for an instructor who really enjoys teaching Chinese.
