Hello!
My name is Siena and I am already half Swedish so I have that down to pat. The problem is I have grown up a little bit everywhere around the world and yet do not know Swedish. I am fluent in English, French, and some Spanish (which I am taking at Concordia University in september along with a double major, busy busy busy). I am currently in Sweden and picking up on quite a bit, but I feel quite guilty for making all these Swedes look confused when I blurt everything out in English. I am staying with my grandmother who is Swedish in Pitea, but im definitly still a beginner - who wants to learn much much more. I would be able to dedicate about 5-6 hours a week, as long as its fun, then ever more than that.
I am looking for someone studious and hardworking, but who can always give it the fun and useful twist.
I need to learn how to speak, but my accent isnt terrible, and how to read, grammar, and especially conversation (i tend to freeze up here).
Besides learning Swedish out of respect for my heritage and the possibility that I would like to live here one day or summer (it is absolutely beautiful), I love learning languages and up until now thought I was quite good at it.

I would like to learn the Swedish language and become fluent enough to communicate with my counterparts at work who work in Sweden.
I am willing to dedicate 4-5 hours a week (in lessons) but more time out of the 'classroom' or away from the teacher.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher are patience, peristence, someone with a unique teaching style who will think out of the box to help me learn.
I am brand new to the language- all I can say is hello.

I studied abroad in Spain for 5 months and have had spanish in school so I am able to carry on a conversation in spanish. I am still not comfortable with verbs especially past and future tense so I would like someone to help me master the language. It is my minor so I am willing to dedicate as much time as possible. As far as Swedish goes I recently met several people from Sweden and spent a lot of time listening to their language. I think it is beautiful and I would love to be able to at least converse in Swedish. I am definatly a beginner when it comes to Swedish but i learn fast. I am looking for someone who will work with me and make me work hard. I really want to be fluent in both languages and I am willing to put in the time! Thanks!

Hej Anneli!
Ja g heter Pete... A beginner but with personal and B2B requirements to learn Swedish (as a Sales Director in a Healthcare company with interests in a Sollentuna based company.) Used to work for a major Swedish Care company albeit UK based. Have visited Sweden on several occasions, mainly Stockholm but as English has always been the Company language attempts to try Swedish have been limited...not by personal choice!
Limited vocabulary to date, basic introductory phrases,order ing food and drinks etc.....(pron unciation a struggle at times!)but I reckon I have a reasonable affinity with linguistic disciplines and I am very interested in what more could be gained through formal instruction. My girlfriend is Swedish and particularly fluent in English which doesn't always help my attempts to converse but hopefully will be a real advantage for additional coaching! I am thinking of moving to Stockholm and an improvement in my Swedish will surely help the process!
A uditory only CD's haven't helped much...but I seem to be better at retaining dialogue when taken in conjunction with written prompts... I can probably manage a lesson once a week dependant on commitments as I tend to work away most of the time and my company is based in Aylesbury..
Qualities in a teacher...pat ience, sense of humour,abilit y to focus on and tell me what is needed to improve...and to tolerate occasional lapses in concentration and timekeeping!
Saw your details through a Google search..I live in Nottingham and am really interested in what you could do to help my Swedish...als o noticed that you've just updated your site so this could be good timing!
