Why do I want to learn Chinese and Japanese?
Studying other languages and learning about world culture is a huge passion of mine. Last summer, I lived in Japan for about 2 months (on a foreign exchange program). I was lucky enough to have the experience of everyday life and learning with a family in Japan.
This year, I will be going on another full year exchange program to Taiwan. I am very excited to learn more about Chinese culture, with a Chinese family, and I am interested in learning how to speak Mandarin (starting now, before I get there...)
My proficiency level:
I am a beginner in Mandarin Chinese. I know I still have lots of work to do!
My foreign language experience:
I have been studying Japanese for just about two years.
I had studied Spanish in school for over five years.
How much time do I want to dedicate:
A lot! A little on my own everyday, and at least once or twice a week (which would be awesome) with a teacher. I really want to delve into Mandarin as much as I can before I will be travelling there this fall...
Wh at qualities am I looking for:
A person who really would like to teach Mandarin! (haha) A person who would share some fun conversationa l skills, and useful tips, along with the 'chapter'. A person who likes to be versatile with learning, and have fun! :)

Hi...im a high-school student. I recently switched languages. I went from spanish to now taking Japanese. I have no clue how to speak and write japanese. So that would make me an extreme beginner (lol). The areas i need help are everywhere. I hope to find a native speaker to help me learn, but it really doesn't matter as long as you are a good teacher. The time i would like to have the lessons would have to be when i get out of school which is 3:00pm, but i can discuss the time with my teacher so we can work out a good schedule. Please contact me as soon as possible.

I am a beginner with almost zero experience in Japanese. I want to learn Japanese because I have a great interest in Japanese language and culture, but have not been able to get far on my own. I hope to visit Japan in the future, and it would be better if I knew some of the language. I am a serious student, and already take French in my high school. I am really very flexible about time. I hope to find a teacher who can help me at my own pace.
