I want to learn Mandarin to visit China, to study its history via museums, archaeology, libraries, and also to become conversant with the people especially in rural/older locations (to live there if poss.).
I am taking two hours a week instruction with a Chinese professor via internet, but I need daily converstion to 'hear' properly. I would like two hours Mon - Fri (if possible) perhaps on various topics that I 'read' in between times. Instruction times at teacher's convenience.
I would hope the teacher is fluent in common Mandarin usage and can get by in English. I am male but have no such preference in a teacher.
