I have been studied Mandarin Chinese for 4 years and would like to maintain my proficiency level and hopefully become fluent one day. I would say that I am in the Intermediate level but I might be at a lower level because I have not had a chance to practice speaking for several months.

hi.. I'm a medical student. basically as a doctor to be, i would like to learn mandarin as to help me in communication with my chinese patients. there's been quite some experiences that i got to communicate with chinese who can't speak malay or english well.. it's difficult.. hopefully, with some classes and trainings, i hope to be able to at least make the patient feel comfortable with me and make me feel confident to talk and treat them..
as i'm still a student, i hope that the class can be done at night on weekdays because i may need to go back to my hometown on weekend.

In 2009-10 I spent a year in China as a TESOL and IELTS English teacher, and I have returned several times since, primarily to visit ex students.
Du ring my time in the country I have 'acquired' some spoken phrases,I can count and read 'Entry' and 'Exit'. I also recognise 'Hangzhou', 'Shaoxing' and 'Shanghai' on buses. But basically I'm at the Hi Hao, Xia Xia stage.
I would like to learn more spoken language to make future visits even more enjoyable than previous ones. I also attend a weekly 'Experiencing China' programme which covers, history, culture, regions and current events in China, but not language.
