In 2005/2006 I spent one year in India, working as a volunteer in a Sangeet Vidyalaya in Karnataka. Soon I started to pick up some Hindi words, even tough the language spoken in Karnataka is Kannada. Well, at the end of my stay in India I was able to make small conversations in Hindi, in a grammatical completly wrong Hindi but at least I could talk with the people. Back in Switzerland I wanted to learn a proper Hindi and learn the Writing as well, so I went to Hindi classes for half a year. My Hindi teacher is a well educated man, but the class was to big for me, and because I'm already able to make small conversations I often felt bored. Because we were so many people in the classes the teacher wasn't able to teach each student individually.
So I'm looking for a private Hindi teacher who is able to understand my mixup with the Hindi language and can bring a system into it. A person who understands that I have questions. I'm really eager to learn this beautiful language properly because India somehow grew into my heart during the year I spent there. I would like to be able to talk to the people in their language and because I can't learn Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Telegu, Malayalam, Gujarati, Kannada etc. at the same time I decided to learn Hindi first. I would prefer a native Hindi speaking person who knows as well much about the Indian culture and history.
I'm a 21 year old girl from Switzerland and I will be staying in Delhi from around end of April until end of July. I will be doing some voluntary work in a project in New Delhi. I won't work all day long, so I'm looking for a teacher who is willing to teach me regularly and individually, maybe daily, maybe every second day. I want to learn the grammar, the writing and as well train the conversation. I'm interested in Indian Literature as well.
