I am a New Zealander and I want to learn Afrikaans for future career posibilities in Africa. I know one or two words so I am obviously a beginner. Primarily, I would like to learn conversationa l Afrikaans because being able to speak the language is more important at the moment than being able to write it. I can dedicate as much time as I need to learning the language, and at least one day a week. I would prefer a teacher whos native language is Afrikaans so that I can pick up on natural accent and I learn best in person, although the lessons do not have to be one on one.

Why you are learning your foreign language?
I love the sound of the language, plus I would like to travel to South Africa one day.
My proficiency level. I do not speak the language at all. Therefore I would classify myself as an absolute beginner.
Th e areas in which you feel you need particular improvement. All areas, but I'm really interested in conversationa l Afrikaans.
H ow much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons? I could probably devote two to three hours to my language lessons.
Wha t qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher? I'm looking for a relaxed, casual style lessons, nothing too taxing.

I would like to learn Afrikaans for career advancement . If I could learn grammar it will be of help as I'll be moving to a place where they speak aFrikaans for their day life.
