Hello,
I recently started my Ph.D at the PICB institute, Shanghai. Now I am beginning to learn learn Chinese, preferably with a private teacher for the first month. Primarily, I want to gain skills to communicate with people on the road and for daily use.
I live in Yue Yang Road, Xúhuì, I think it would be convenient but not absolutely necessary that my teacher lives close to this district.
I would like to have classes 2 or 3 times a week, for maybe 1,5 hours each.

We are two Americans currently living in Shanghai and studying Mandarin. Our level would be described as 'advanced beginner'. We want to find a private laoshi we can hire to provide intensive language training everyday (from approximately 9:00am - 6:00pm - Monday to Friday) for at least 6 weeks (could be extended). We want to begin this language study program on Wednesday, August 16th.
We want our language study program to include both classroom time and also outside activities (for example, shopping, sightseeing, etc). Our goal is to significantly improve our Mandarin speaking skills.
We plan to interview all potential laoshi's next week Wednesday (July 19th) and Thursday (July 20th) beginning at 5:30pm. The location is in central Puxi (we will give you a more specific address if you are interested in interviewing for this opportunity).
If you are willing to commit to teaching us for 6 weeks (beginning August 16th) and feel comfortable teaching Chinese language in both a classroom environment as well as teaching us while exploring Shanghai, please respond to this message. Thank you.
