Hello -- my 6-year-old son grew very interested in Chinese when we were living in downtown Toronto and many of his friends were Cantonese - or Mandarin-spea king. I found him a teacher there and he was enjoying his lessons; but then we moved to Hamilton. He has mentioned a few times he would like to start learning again. I am looking for a teacher who has had some experience with children (or would be willing to teach) and can just stick with the basics (I have no illusions that he is going to become a fluent speaker; it's more just to let him learn something about the language since he is so interested).

I just moved here from Ann Arbor Michigan and have been trying to master chinese since my first visit there. I was learning by teaching english to the families of Chinese students at the university of michigan family housing center. We would spend an hour of me teaching them English and then we would spend another hour with them teaching me Chinese. I looking for a local class or privat teacher and I am very serious about learning and willing to put the time in each week to meet my goal. So please contact me if you can help.
