- I have 1.5 years of Japanese language instuction at the high school level. I have been regarded by my language instructor at the school I came from in Ca. as a natural. I won the one and only contest I participated in and traveled to Japan last year with the Japan club. I am currently in 10th grade at Hilliard Davidson High School and they do not offer Japanese, therefore I must enroll in an accredited language program to receive credit at school. I am interested in learning to speak Japanese because I am having my first baby that is partially Japanese due to the father being biracial. I would love to teach my baby girl to speak to her grandmother in her native language and her grandfather (that currently resides in Okinawa, Japan and is employed as a professor).
This will also look good on my resume that I speak a foreign language. I am willing to dedicate 2 hours of my Saturday mornings to learning this language or whatever it takes so that I can have a conversation and understand what is being said to me. I am most definitely a beginner. I am looking for a dedicated teacher that is concerned about his students progression in learning the language and proper usage.
