I am a British student looking for Chinese tutoring during my year abroad in Chengdu.
M y Chinese is not very good- between Beginner and Intermediate. I have some knowledge of Chinese Characters (simplified) and would like to learn both spoken and written Chinese.
I am learning Chinese because I love the language and culture. I also believe that it may be useful to my future career.
Id eally I would like to receive about 5-10 hours of Chinese tutoring a week.
I am looking for a friendly, helpful teacher and would be happiest in a small class, but am willing to take 1 on 1 lessons if classes are not available.

I am interested to study Mandarin and French. My mother tongue is Bahasa Malaysia.
I am looking for a tutor who is willing to conduct private lessons at areas which is convenient for me to travel to.
I want a tutor who can teach me basic/convers ational Mandarin and French. Writing/readi ng isn't necessary.

I am between a beginner and an intermediate learner. I read and write a couple hundred characters and can speak and understand conversationa l mandarin. I want to bring my proficiency up to level 4 HSK by next year. Which means several hundred more characters and improved comprehension . I hope to eventually study advanced mandarin.
I completed a BLCU course in Beijing for beginners level B and spent several months in Hunan province in China, but I am already forgetting things since I came back to Canada.
I have taken courses in mandarin at U of T, Concordia University and a few language schools, but I only seems to maintain, not advance.

Why I want to learn this language-in the future, I plan to finish my studies in Hong Kong. I know that if you really want to learn a language, you must also be able to practice it with other people. In my school, there are 2 sections for the foreigner's class. I was lucky because I was placed there in the previous year and I was able to make friends with those who speak the language.
Ho w much time I want to dedicate for my language lessons-at least 2-3 hours a day.
Qualiti es of the teacher- patient, understanding , helpful, enthusiastic, friendly, can speak and teach the language clearly and well, preferably a lady.
