I just want some basics in conversation to be polite and just get around. I may have some work-specific terminology (not technical) that I might ask to learn.

I am at an intermediate level in Chinese. I'm learning Chinese for career advancement and as a hobby. Conversation and grammar is where I need the most help. I plan to spend a lot of time practicing. I'm looking for someone who understands their language particularly well. Many people speak English, but not all people understand its mechanics or even know what an adverb is. I hope that my tutor can include bits of culture and explain some of the differences and similarities between mine and theirs.

I am learning Mandarin Chinese with my ten-year old son. We have learned around 250 characters, but we are still really beginners. We need help particulary with spoken Chinese, but need help with written Chinese too. We both hope to take the GCSE in about a year. We are learning for fun, though the GCSE will be helpful for my son. We would like a teacher who speaks standard Mandarin Chinese. Ideally we would like to have two sessions of two hours each per week.
