I speak Mandarin and Cantonese at an intermediate level. However I only read and write basic Chinese. I would like to learn to read and write more Chinese characters, understand more about Chinese literature, proverbs, history, and culture. Ultimately I aim to be able to read the newspaper. I would like the lessons in Mandarin. As for Cantonese I wish to perfect my pronunciation to a Standard Cantonese level.
I wish to have one lesson a week (1-1.5 hrs).
As an instructor myself, I seek a teacher who is knowledgeable , passionate, and with a gift for teaching. I work in the performing arts industry (as well as in the fitness industry), being so, a language teacher with a performing arts background would be much welcomed.

I am a beginning student. I am moving to China in the fall for work and feel it would be critical for me to learn a bit of the language. I need mostly classes in conversation, and if at all possible business conversation. Ideally, I would like a tutor 3 times a week. I need a structured teacher who can direct a lesson plan, since I don't know where to start.
