I am very fluent in french and english. I also have basic knowledge in créole and spanish. I am very interested in learning chinese mandarin because it is an important language worldwide. I want to be able to learn and speak different languages. I'll dedicate as much time as possible in lessons. The only thing I would look for in a teacher is him/her enjoying what they do.

I studied Mandarin briefly in college (only one year) several years ago and would now like to return to it. I remember very little so I would basically be starting from scratch again. I'm interested in a rather intensive program: I'd like to meet at least twice a week as I'd like to reach at least a second year level before I start a graduate program next fall.
I recently returned to San Diego after living two and a half years in Japan where I taught English. I took the free lessons offered by the city as well as private instruction and I reached a level somewhere around level 3 on the Japanese proficiency test. I would like to continue to study to improve my language skills or, at the very least, not loose the ones that I've developed.
I am looking for teachers who are native speakers who understand grammar and language acquisition. You should also be interesting to talk to. I'll do my best to be interesting too. I know how it makes teaching more fun.

I need to be able to function before end of July
I already tried the pimsleur method. But studying alone and with a cd is not always easy. I am ready to put all the efforts it takes to study this language and need some flexibility from my teacher. But I am also flexible.
I can dedicate 3 hours or more per week.
But first of all, I need to know how much will cost a lesson.
