Si ngapore will be my permanent home. I want to be able to communicate more fluidly with locals here and on my trips to China.
I have a lot of time to spend learning the language. I want 4-5 lessons a week, including outside work such as grammar practice and vocabulary memorization to do on my own. I am a fast learner and expect an intensive program.

My husband and I are both 57 years old. Our children have left home, and we have an empty bedroom. We live in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, near Germantown and Manyunk in a medium-size house.
I would like to practice Chinese because I majored in Chinese in college and I would like to revive it so that I can go to China or teach Chinese to American children. I have forgotten most of what I learned, but it may come back quickly.
W e are offering a room in exchange for conversationa l practice and a little help with Chinese lessons. By 'little help,' I mean half an hour three times a week. We would expect this person to be neat as well as help dust and sweep the first floor. We will discuss how to work out meals and food.
We live about half a mile from a bus stop on Ridge Ave. in Phila.
