*my proficiency: intermediate
*i want to learn chinese because its for my own benefit, my personal gain of my own heritage and also my parents are forcing me to learn it. i am currently going to a chinese school but i don't think that it's helping me much and i want to quit it but my parents won't let unless i find a private tutor.
* the areas in which i feel i need particular improvement on are my grammer, learning to speak, to undertand. i know how to read and write. mostly on learning to speak it.
* i am dedicating everyday time just to learn chinese through tutoring if possible but not chinese school.
* the qualities i look for in the lesson is to be fun and interesting, to have an easy understanding of chinese language and learning to speak, write and read fluently with time.
* the qualities i look for in my teacher is a person who is fun, patient, does not yell when i make a mistake and have flexible hours.

I have studied Japanese in the past. 1999 completed Certificate III in Applied Language (Japanes) Gold Cost Institute of TAFE. But as I have not had a chance to practice the spoken word, I have forgotten most of it. I am needing language lessons for work. I am a computer support technician and we will be working with our colleagues in Japan more closely in the future. I need to learn business Japanese.

I am required to learn French as i immigrating to Canada (Quebec) and also to develop my career opportunities . Im in Canada now and will be back in Australia on 21st October, 2004. I will study as much as is required to become fluent in 5 months. I need a teacher who will not be soft on me - i only have a short time to learn this language. I know the basic greetings but that is about it.
