I am a physician from the United States who is coming to live in Chongqing for at least a year. I am a complete beginner when it comes to Chinese and would like to spend around 20-25 hours a week studying Chinese (maybe longer the initial first month or or two). Some of that time would be studying on my own. I am looking for a teacher with a set program for teaching Chinese, so that I can make as rapid progress as possible over the coming a year in order to travel and communicate with people in Mandarin. I would also like to learn to read at least 3000 characters over the next year and a half. I am very serious about my studies. I will have some other obligations to attend to but learning Chinese will be my primary goal.I need an experienced teacher as serious about teaching as I am about learning who has a a set plan for teaching the language that is adaptable to different to different types of learning styles.
