My proficiency is as Beginner for Arabic.
My reason for learning is so that I can be a better Nurse and health care provider for Arabic speaking patients as well as to improve my ability to communicate as a person too.
I need assistance in all areas of Arabic language as I have rarely heard it and do not understand any.
I am able to dedicate a couple hours a week to lessons and more time for studies.
T he qualities that I am looking for in a teacher are one who encourages learning and is not a harsh instructor.

I am a beginner in Arabic hoping to learn a new language. When learning new languages, grammar is usally the hardest for me. I might consider myself an intermediate speaker. I studied Portuguese in Brazil for a month in college, 101 and 102. I am proficient in Italian and Spanish, which helps me to understand spoken Portuguese. Because of this, my grammar is pretty decent, but my vocabulary is lacking. I am a little rusty, but am a very fast learner when it comes to languages. I love Brazil and have been twice, and hope to go again this summer to visit friends and do volunteer work. I want to learn it purely for conversationa l and travel purposes. I love languages and have studied linguistics and would love to be better at portuguese, but cannot take classes on a regular basis due to my work schedule and being out of town often. Therefore meeting might be 3 times a week for a week or two, then not at all for another week or two.
