Proficiency Level: I am able to say a good amount of basic phrases and random words, but I haven't learned much about sentence structure or writing kanji/hiragan a, etc.
Why I'm learning the language: I've been fascinated with the Japanese culture for a number of years now, and I would love to learn the language. Also, I plan to study abroad within the next year for 6 weeks, and it would be nice to know some of the language to communicate better with my host family.
I am looking for a teacher that is hopefully fluent or near-fluent in Japanese and knows what they are teaching.
