Dear Language Teachers / Providers,
We are an international relocation firm; our language team delivers customized one-to-one language training programs for business people relocating into and within APAC.
We are currently looking for a Thai language trainer for our customer in Nothamburi, Thailand.
Below are requirements that we expect teachers/trai ners to have:
1) A University Degree
2) At least 2 years' experience teaching the target language or a degree in teaching
3) ESL training experience preferred
4) The ability to teach various levels of the target language in particular (preferably to be able to teach business language as well as daily living/ conversationa l).
5) Professionali sm and reliability
6) Flexible working hours during the weekdays.
Note: this position is open to trainers who are currently in Thailand..

This is a part-time job and salary is paid on an hourly basis.

I would say I am about intermediate level speaking (not fluent) but only beginner in reading and writing. I just began learning to read and write and can only recognize about 90 characters.
I have lived in China for about 1 and a half years, and am now taking a 3 month break in Thailand. I would really like to become fluent before i return to England next year, and want to continue my studies in Thailand.
I am studying on my own, so i would be interested in about 1 to 2 hours guided tuition per week.
I would like a teacher with flexible methods that could accommodate my unusual ratio of speaking to writing and reading. I would probably like to focus on reading and writing with a view to catch up on my speaking a little.

I plan on moving to Malaysia in a year or two. I wish to learn Mandarin prior to this. I work 8:30-5, Mon-Fri, so lessons will have to be evenings. I am a complete beginner. I wish to learn to speak, read and write Mandarin. I have learnt Thai in the last year, including to read and write it, so I believe I am capable of applying myself to learn Mandarin. I am looking for someone who will teach in a friendly way, but also push me to learn quickly.

Hi, the reason why I want to learn Chinese is mainly to keep my brain active outside of work and secondly because clearly mandarin will have a greater importance in the coming years. I am an absolute beginner but I am nearly fluent in Thai. This means I have some practice with tonal languages. I want to be able to firstly, converse & understand. After that, then maybe looking at reading & writing. The amount of time per week would be about 4 hours per week but can be negotiable.
Ideally in my teacher, I don't want them to speak much English. My Thai teacher couldn't speak any English so when we had a break it forced us to speak Thai. This really helped me learn; for me the key to being successful to a language is speaking it regularly, and then being put in situations where you must use it. With regards to the tones, I found with Thai, I got there.... Eventually. Now Thais say that my accent is the clearest from any foreigner, but that is because I copy the way they say things, and not because I spent 10 hours practicing the various tones. I cannot sing and therefore being good at tonal languages is hard for me initially, it isn't until I've spent some time using the language and hearing how other people use it that I can replicate it. Some understanding about this would be good.
