Shalom!
As a 52-year-old linguist with a Jewish background,
I started teaching myself Hebrew about 2 years ago.
While I continue to make good progress, I feel I would
now like to join an advanced beginners' class - Ulpan? -
as per August / September, to be able to practice with
classmates and have my qestions answered by a
(preferably Israel native) teacher, as well as interact /
socialize with Israelis in the greater Dallas area, which
is where I am based.
Bei ng a serious and committed individual, my intention is to become fluent in modern Hebrew and I am prepared and willing to work hard (and enjoy myself!) towards this end.
I would enjoy for class to meet 3-5 times a week.
Kindly advise if you could assist me in finding an adequate
learning environment to improve my modern Hebrew language
skills.

I am a beginner at Hebrew.
I am learning because I may spend 1-2 years in Jerusalem volunteering starting in May 2010.
Ther e is no particular area I need improvement in, I know no Hebrew! :-)
I'd want to meet once per week with as much homework as necessary.
I'm looking for my teacher to be friendly and thorough.
Finally, it's important to note that I work from 9-5 so I could only meet after 6 M-F or anytime during the weekend.
