I am a native English speaker, and want to learn Chinese (Mandarin). I am a complete beginner, and I wish to learn because I have always been fascinated by the Chinese language and culture, and it would give me greater career prospects to have a good level of proficiency in Chinese. I work full time and so would need to have lessons in the evenings or weekends, but I am fully prepared to put in as much time as I can as I realise that is the only way to progress at a good rate, to a good standard. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and willing to guide a complete beginner through the stages of learning required to get me to achieve a good standard in time. I am also looking for someone reasonably priced, as I have found too many 'courses' online who are very overpriced. I will be a dedicated and enthusiastic learner, and only ask that my teacher provides me with the guidance to excel.

I teach in Italy but in I teach in an English school. I am looking to develop more advanced conversationa l italian to go beyond everday situations and consolidate and build on basic grammar. My proficiency level now lies between beginner and intermediate level. I would be looking for intensive sessions over the summer, max 2 hours a week as I am only in UK from 7th July until the 28th August. I would require the lessons to be mostly vocabulary/co nversation and aural skills based, with some coverage of verb conjugations/ simple tenses.
