This is actually not for me, but for my boyfriend. He wishes to learn Chinese in all aspects. He is a very motivated and driven student. This will be his first attempt at the language so he is a beginner. I am interested in setting up the classes for him as a gift. He would be able to attend class, as well as some on-line work. I would like his teacher to be geographicall y oriented and a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. He would be more interested in conversation. He wants to learn because the culture intrigues him and has been wanted to learn how to communicate in Chinese. Perhaps for future career use.

I am a beginner seeking to reach the intermediate level of spoken French within 6 months. I will be supplementing lessons with tapes and computer CDs. I'm willing to dedicate at least 7-10 hours per week and will accept your recommendatio n of how many of those hours need to be spent on tutoring to achieve my goal. I can already read French on a beginner level but I know I need to work on increasing my vocabulary.
Native French speaker( preferably from an African country or the Caribbean) OR
Person who is certified to teach/tutor French and who has taught adult clients for more than 4 years.
Person who can offer structured lessons and learning plan.

I am interested in learning conversationa l Italian. I will be traveling to Italy this Spring and would like to learn enough to be able to speak with the locals and travel comfortably. I am at a beginner's level and am ready to begin learning as soon as possible. Depending upon cost, I would like to take lessons weekly or every other week.
I would hope the instructor has spent some time in Italy so I could also learn more about the cultures of various regions.
