I am a native Canadian who would like to learn to speak Arabic (Lebanese/Ira qi or Egyptian accent). I have taken a 3 month course on Arabic and thus am a beginner and need teaching in pronunciation , grammer, conversation, etc. I can read arabic fairly well. I would like to spend aproximately 2 hours a week, and am serious about learning to fluently speak the language in time. I hope to find a patient teacher who loves to teach. Material to take home and study would be valuable to me as I am more of a visual learner. I would only be comfortable with a female teacher. Thanks.

I am interested in learning arabic as I learned words and phrases as a young woman and the Ottawa region provides many opportunities to practice it. I speak 4 languages however I am a beginner in Arabic and as such would require all fundamentals including vocabulary, grammer etc. I am interested in a class setting, however I am not opposed to private lessons. I can dedicate 4 hours a week including written work and studying/read ing practice.

I'd like to learn Arabic, because I am interested in the Arabic culture and Islam (as a philosophy).
My way of learning languages is through the written word, which is the only way I can remember new words. That's why a conversationa l 'survival crash course' is not for me.
I'd need to start from the very beginning: the alphabet, reading simple books written for children etc and to work my way toward more complicated stuff.
My goal is to be able to READ Arabic; understanding spoken language would be my second priority.
I would be interested in taking a course in German, which I had been force-fed for 10 years in school. I do think that some of that stuff got stuck in my head, so I could probably pick it up with a minimal effort, or so I hope.
