-I am learning Amharic to carry out research in Ethiopia.
-T hrough personal study of Colloquial Amharic I have gained a beginning knowledge. I can read and write the alphabet, know basic greetings, can clumsily compose sentences using present, past tense, gerundive, relative clauses etc. I spent a month in Ethiopia last summer and tried to practice there as much as I could. I'm determined to master the language and I believe I need a tutor to do so.
-I would dedicate an hour every week or every other week to lessons.
-I want a teacher with experience in teaching advanced level Amharic, who can collaborate with me in advancing my conversation to an intermediate level by December. I would like my teacher to set bench marks, and hold me accountable to completing certain assignments and memorizing certain aspects of the language by each lesson. I would also like someone who can work with the text I am currently using.

I have always been interested in learning Japanese. Manly I want to understand what someone is saying before I want to decide to move on to spelling, grammar, etc. I know only a few words but that is not enough for me. I work in the mornings and I don't get out till 5pm. Weekends I'm basically free. I am looking for a teacher that can assist me.

I want to be able to converse with my family in Belgrade. I am a beginner having used ' Teach Yourself Serbian ' to gain some knowledge of the language. I have no concrete concept of grammar, verb conjugation or tense. Similarly this type of book doesn't lend itself to being able to converse with a native speaker. I am retired and can spend considerable time learning the language.The qualities of a good teacher is someone who has a passion for the language and wants others who are interested to learn it. Takes pride in their work and wants the student to succeed.
