My daughter is a college student in Ohio and asked me to research for her. She is a beginner level Japanese student. She is interested in qualifying for the JET program this fall. She has looked at the UC Berkeley summer class but would like to stay at home this summer. She wants to be able to speak well enough Japanese to live/work there for a year or two, possibly read Japanese as well. She is learning characters and vocabulary on her own now. She is not looking for a casual approach but is seriously interested in being as proficient as possible by the end of summer. She has an ear for language and strength in vocabulary memory.

Hello,
I am a recent graduate from the University of Arizona. I have a degree in Veterinary Science, but as of now have not applied to any veterinary schools. In the meantime I am going to Prague (in August) to get my TEFL certificate and plan to stay there for a few months after teaching English. I am Czech, and my family speaks fluently, but I never learned. I know some very basic words, and can understand some things people say. I want to be able to have some type of grasp on the language prior to August- even if this means just learning simple phrases/sayin gs.
