I was born and raised in America. my parents are from Afghanistan. i've always spoke farsi at home but i know i don't use the correct grammer. i would like some one to help me understand the correct usage and there are also many words i do not know (that are not used everyday) i would like to dedicate about 2hrs a day every 3 days or so to this. I am planning an adventure tour in China this October, and I would like to be able to meet people and ask simple questions along the way. I have never studied Chinese, but I find it a very fascinating language, very different from the other languages I know or am acquainted with. I am also fluent in German (the language of my parents), have studied French and traveled in France using only my French. I am a singer, so I am also familiar with most European languages, and have performed in Russian and Hebrew. My schedule is very full, so I am looking to maximize my study with one-on-one tutoring once a week. I am not expecting to be proficient in Chinese by October, but rather to be familiar with the sounds, general pronunciation , and to be able to meet people and ask simple questions.
