I am a beginning student of Serbian who was living in Belgrade for the past 8 months with a native Serbian speaker but with no formal training myself. I have just returned to the United States and am looking for beginning Serbian language lessons focusing on gramatical structure and explanation of sentence formation, etc. I am fairly proficient in reading both latin and cyrillic Serbian script, however my vocabulary is not sufficient for understanding what is written. In conversation, I am able to understand some everyday common phrases when listening to native speakers, however my own conversation skills are very limited and I have had almost no practice (especially since I am no longer hearing it daily). I would like to have some beginning lessons in order to better understand and communicate when I return to Belgrade in about 4 months. I would like to meet a few times a week for around 2 - 2 1/2 hrs. each time if possible and I would like the teacher to focus on everyday conversation skills and basic grammar in particular.

i am a beginner in romanian. and i want to learn it because it is my husband's native language. i want to be able to speak with him and especially his family, who do not speak any english. i know very little although i pick up some words here and there. i want to spend as much time needed for me to acheive the level i want.. but i want to dedicate a minimum of 3 hrs a week. i am looking for a teacher that is patience, well educateded in both languages and that is close to home.
