i would like to learn to speak farsi fluently so i can actively participate in family gatherings with my in-laws. i spent 17 days in iran this march, but felt left out of many of the conversations because i did not understand or speak farsi. i would be a beginner and would like to dedicate 30-60mins 3-4 days a week learning the basics. i'm hoping to find someone who is a native speaker and will be able to teach me the 'spoken' farsi as opposed to the formal farsi. i understand that many persian do not speak formal farsi. is there any hope.

I am just beginning to learn Vietnamese. I want to learn Vietnamese because I have a son whose half Vietnamese and I feel that it would be good for him to learn the language and culture of his grandmother.
