Hello, my name is Bor Vang, I am hmong American. I can speak, read and write in English. As for Hmong I am somewhat fluent in speaking, but I'm curently taking class on how to write Hmong. I'm currently going to school to become an Register Nurse. My goal is to travel the world ( Southeast Asia in particular) doing missionary work and helping the poor. I don't have any knowledge about vietnames language. I would be starting at the beginning. What I'm looking for to get out of this is to be able to communicate fluently and understand what I'm saying as well as being able to read and write in Vietnamese. What I expect from my teacher is to know their stuff, get to know me and find ways or methods that I will understand. I'm willing to spend two to three hours a day to learn. I eventually want to learn other foreign languages, laos, Thai etc.

I am an American, middle aged female currently living in North Western Connecticut and plan to move to Greece within one year. I would like to begin learning Greek with a tutor and will travel up to fifty miles for instruction.
I have been looking for language schools and/or courses to no avail other than those taught in Greece.

I recently married a man of Ethiopian ancestry who has lived in Germany for several years. It is my desire to learn Amharic so that I may converse with my in-laws. I am a native English speaker. After I learn Amharic, I will pursure German.

Hello!
I have never taken chinese lessons before, but have a burning interest in becoming fluent in Mandarin. I have studied russian, french, german, and a bit of italian. I am not fluent in any of these, but could communicate a bit.
I don't have much money right now so I'm happy to take class with larger number of people. I could also work (help with class or something) in exchange for classes.
I plan to possible major in Chinese in college. I know that Chinese is the next most important language for Americans to know/speak in areas of business. Also, my sister is studying acupuncture and oriental medicine. She and I would like to work together in the future. My knowledge of this language would be very helpful to her. I am very dedicated to learning Chinese.
