I am a beginner with no experience speaking Mandarin. I would like to learn for professional reasons, with my ultimate goal being to gain an ability to speak and understand Mandarin rather easily, so I can use it in a professional setting.
I can dedicate 1-2 times a week to lessons.
I would prefer a teacher to be experienced in teaching Mandarin to beginners, and in my local area.

I have been teaching myself for the past year using books and CD's. At this time I am probably a high beginner or a low intermediate student of Portuguese.
I am a 5th grade teacher in a public school. Last year I had a student from Brazil. I began learning Portuguese in order to encourage him to try to speak English, as well as to better communicate with his parents.
Although the child has returned to Brazil, I remain friends with his mother. We communicate via email and telephone calls.
I can probably spend 1-2 hours per week on lessons at this time. I would like to learn to speak and comprehend spoken language better.

my proficiency is a beginner. i know very few words in spanish and i am wanting to learn the language to be more marketable on my job. I want to learn more of the conversationa l area so that i am able to communicate with my hispanic residents on my job. I am willing to dedicate at leat 6-10 hours a week to learn the language and i want someone that is very knowledgable of the language and is very patient and cares about the success of the student and not just out to make a dollar.
