I am a beginning learner of Arabic. I am familiar with some words and constructs of the language. Most of my learning has come from Egyptian speakers in my family. I can also read and write basics of arabic.
My family speaks arabic. Many of my friends know arabic. I will be going to Egypt to see family who I have not been able to converse before with. I am dertemined to speak arabic and I want to become fluent in my ability to converse orally. I need to build on my vocabulary of nouns, adjectives and verbs as well as develop my knowledge of verbal usage and sentence structure.
I need to practice speaking arabic while I am learning. I am shy about speaking the language due to errors I make and would like to overcome this. I need to be CHALLENGED to force my mind to learn, construct and speak. I am looking for a teacher who will take my learning seriously. I do not want to waste my money nor my time, nor the teacher's time. I am very serious about this. I am looking for a professional instructor. What I do not want is a teacher who will speak with me in English and teach me Arabic in English! He/she needs to be stubborn about NOT speaking in english with me.
I would like to have 2 hour class sessions twice/three times a week in person. I would also like advice on audio lessons for the car and home as well as a text book to increase my vocabulary through memorizing.
I understand the ave rate of cost for this is around $30/h for this? I am a teacher, and am paying for this by myself. It is worth it to me... I am very serious about it, yet it is expensive for me, so I want to get the most I can out of it.
