I am a college student outside of Dallas and am very interested in learning a foreign language. I am interested in several languages (Italian, Portuguese, German, Mandarin -> in that order). My college does not offer courses in Italian, which is what I would like to learn the most. I would prefer a teacher who can provide lessons in person and online. I believe that I would learn the language best by speaking in person and understanding pronunciation , and then reinforcing that with home study. I know almost nothing in the language, I am very much a beginner, but am very eager to learn!

I want to dedicate at least 4 to 5 hrs a week on assyrian aramaic language. I am interested in learning Assyrian because Jesus spoke this language. I will need grammar and conversation. I would like a teacher that is a native from Syria, patient and not racist.

I've studied via Pimsleur audio CD's for around 100 hrs plus 3 10-day trips in Brazil over the last 14 months. I speak Portuguese like a caveman.
# Why you are learning your foreign language
I am a missionary working with churches in Brazil: while this also means I'm poor (depending solely on the gifts of my supporters), I need to get proficient in order to likely take over Brazilian operations
# The areas in which you feel you need particular improvement
All areas, probably grammar is my weakest
# How much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons. 3 hrs/wk is ideal, but depending on what direction you give me, I'm willing to move my impossibly full schedule
# What qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher.
