I am a beginner in the Portuguese language. Though I have traveled to Lisbon four times in the last five years, I still know very little. I do know some very basics, and can seem to understand the language better than I can speak it. I want to learn Portuguese to better communicate with my friends in Portugal, even though they speak English quite well. I feel this is an important step to be able to communicate with them in their language as well. I am interested in conversationa l Portuguese to start, but am open to instruction. I am willing to dedicate a couple of hours per week to lessons as well as more time on practice.

I would like to learn Vietnamese because my girlfriend of 3 years is Vietnamese. Although she was born in America, her parents came from Vietnam and still speak it around family members. At this point, I am at the beginning stages since all I really know is food items in Vietnamese. I am not really concerned with writing as I am with conversation.
