Few semesters of basic Japanese with hiragana and katakana (very few kanji).
I'd like to refresh my past knowledge and achieve better levels of proficiency.
I'm very weak in vocabulary, but grasp concepts well. I've little kanji knowledge.
I would like to have formal lessons on weekends (preferably saturdays).
Qualities I would like in a teacher, are kindness, patience, and able to explain things in multiple ways, if necessary.

I am proficient in Spanish having learnt the language throuhout university. I was able to practice and apply daily as I lived with an international living group consisiting of more than 60% native speakers. I have also traveled through Spain, and Peru.
It has been 2 years since I graduated and had the luxury of speaking Spanish frequently. I will be returning to Hong Kong for a month in December this year (2006) for a month before I head South to Ecuador for some community development projects; I am hoping to find a conversation partner / tutor to help undust my language skills during that month, preferably 2 times a week.

I am new to speaking Kiswahili but can understand the language fairly well. I am in love with African continent and wish to be able to speak one of its languages. I would also enjoy being able to communicate with my family. I am basically starting from scratch so I will need to build a foundation and go from there. I am looking for an unconventiona l teacher, i.e. I want t learn in other ways then just from a text book. I enjoy hands on learning, games, conversationa l/practical learning. Depending on location I would enjoy meeting with a teacher twice a week.
