I am a beginner in french, the only experience I have is elementary - grade 9 high school level and unfortunately I left the language behind at that point (although I wish I hadn't). I want to learn french again for career advancement, and also because I am considering moving to Montreal at some point next year (because I want to transfer to McGill next school year). I want to improve most in conversation as I want to be able to speak to people above anything else. I am willing to take lessons once to twice a week, and qualities I am looking for in a teacher is the ability to be able to keep my interest. I think the biggest thing that made me want to leave french behind in high school was because of the way it was taught. it was very boring and not fun at all and therefore, I had no motivation to keep learning it. I guess what I am looking for most is someone that will make me really want to learn french, and enjoy it!
