Direct Object Pronoun

(Pronumele Personal - Cazul Acuzativ)

The direct object pronoun has two forms, an accented one and an unaccented one:

Accented Form (Forma Accentuată)

NOTE: This form is used when there are prepositions involved!

Examples:

1. Ciocolata este de la mine. (The chocolate is from me.)

2. Andrei este cu ei. (Andrei is with them.)

3. Mâncarea este pentru noi. (The food is for us.)

4. Angela nu lucrează cu el. (Angela does not work with him.)

5. Jucăriil sunt pentru el. (The toys are for him.)

6. Ei pleacă cu noi mâine? (Are they leaving with us tomorrow?)

Unaccented Form (Forma Neaccentuată)

NOTE: This form is used when prepositions are not involved and it is placed before the verb!!!

Examples:

1. Îi sun chiar acum. (I am calling them right now.)

2. Le cumpăr pe toate. (I am buying them all.)

3. Ei ne aşteaptă la cină. (They are waiting for us for dinner.)

4. Te sun imediat ce ajung acasă. (I"ll call you as soon as I get home.)

5. O aştept. (I am waiting for her.)

6. Ea îl adoră. (She adores him.)
