The present tense / indicativul prezent

Welcome! / Bine aţi venit!

Today I will teach you how to conjugate the verb to be (a fi) at present tense / indicativ prezent in Romanian.

I am / Eu sunt
You are / Tu eşti
He is / El este
She is / Ea este
It is / el este / ea este
We are / Noi suntem
You are / Voi sunteţi
They are / Ei sunt

Let’s use this verb in a small text.

Eu sunt profesoară. = I am a teacher (female gender).
Tu eşti student. = You are a student. (male)
El este doctor. = He is a doctor.
Ea este studentă. = She is a student.
Noi suntem aici. = We are here.
Voi sunteţi acolo. = You are there.
Ei sunt studenţi. = They are students.
Ele sunt studente. = They are students (for females)
Unde eşti? = Where are you?
Sunt aici. = I am here.
