Verbs are words which express  what we are doing  or someone is doing.

Example:                      Infinitive   =    (the basic form of a verb)

• denk -en        -     to think  
  
• geh   -en        -     to go
• lieb    -en        -    to love

Verb endings change according to Personal Pronouns

If you look at the table in lesson 03-B you'll see

1. The Infinitive of a verb always ends in -en.

2. The part or the word before -en is called the stem or the root of the verb.

3. The individual endings are added to this root of the verb.

4. Verbs used with 3rd Person Singular -er-sie-es- and 2nd Person Plural -ihr- have the
     same ending = -t. 

5. Verbs used with 1st Person Plural -wir-, 3rd Person Plural -sie- and the Polite Form -Sie- 
    end (like the Infinitive) in -en.
