    Teaching Approach

Every tutors approach to teaching a foreign speaker a language is different. I personally, like I mentioned above, think using relatable topics for young students is a good way to go! It helped me back when I was in school to remember the vocabulary and also it’s fun to see how different topics are presented in a foreign language. Also, finding out new information can be fun! I found my students sharing their knowledge to others after our lessons, which makes me super happy!!
Addi tionally, I have tons of games prepared and books to read, that I got from my german teachers back home so the resources are endless!
My tutor lessons are unique because I want to be on a personal level with my students. I want to cooperate with them and also their parents on finding the best and easiest war for them to study. I’ve seen great results over the years which is the reason why I do what I do!

    Program Description

Hey! I’m Hanna and I’m from Austria. I am currently tutoring german in South Korea.
I want to show you a quick rundown of my lesson plan I have for my students:
Fo r me the most important thing is to teach in person. A language should be spoken and not only grammar and writting. My goal at the end is it to be able to have a full on conversation with my student, just like I do with my friends back home. Additionally, of course I want to perfect their grammar skills, because german is known to have a very complex grammar. I will do so with little games, every day comparison, and relatable topics for the student. This way it’s easier to remember. I have plenty of resources already but I want to cooperate with my student and find out the best way to study for every individual.
If you have any further questions about my tutor preparations don’t be shy and ask!
    Best wishes, Hanna

    Teaching Experience

I have been a tutor for 4 years now. After I graduated, I wanted to find a job that involves sharing my knowledge of my native language. I quickly realized that I don’t want to teach in a classroom, I’d rather teach students individually, so I can prepare my lessons based on the student. That’s why every lesson I teach is very unique and depends on every single student. The first years of tutoring german, were very hard for me because I taught it to german speakers. But that really helped me figure out how to treat students who are not fluent in german already. After tutoring for several years in Austria I wanted to go overseas and share my interest in the german language with students from all over the world. So far i’ve tutored in South Korea for a year and saw lots of successful stories and I saw myself grow in the process as well!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Some questions I get asked a lot:

    Q.: What’s your teaching schedule?

A.: It depends on how many students I tutor at the moment so it is negotiable. Of course I consider my students schedule and together we figure out how many hours a week and what time. Also before tests we can discuss spontaneously on additional lessons.

Q .: Where do you get your resources from?

A.: I am very lucky to still be in touch with my former german teachers and colleagues back home in Austria, so I’m able to get my resources and teaching techniques from them if I need to!

Q.: What is your payment policy?

    A. : Like I mentioned before, I like to discuss this before the very first lesson with my student. Depending on how many lessons and how long the lessons will be, we can negotiate a fair payment policy.

    Q. : What other experiences makes you a effective tutor?

A.: I’ve been tutoring for quiet a while now and coming from a german speaking country is definitely beneficial. Also, I’ve been a fan of languages all my life. I did an exchange year learning English in the United States for a year when I was in High School (german was also taught there). Not only did it help me see different teaching methods from a different country but also helped me grow as an individual. My mother is a Middle School teacher, so very early in life I was able to look into her ways of teaching.

    Cost of Lessons

It’s negotiable. Before I start my first lesson I sit down with the student and/or their guardian and discuss everything.
