Teaching Approach

I teach classes via Skype, but also by voice call or chat, if so desired by the student. My classes are of a duration of 60 minutes per session, while I offer a trial class of 30 min duration.
As a native speaker, I teach all levels of German for students starting from high school.
My teaching is focused on communicative skills, such as listening and correct pronunciation from the beginning. We go study and practise the necessary grammar along the way in order to be able to express ourselves with higher accuracy.
We make use of modern digital tools such as Google Drive in order to organize the applied teaching materials and keep track of the lessons. The access to internet resources such as video platforms, podcasts and articles allows us to train different language capacities in an immersive and fun way.
Our first lesson usually discusses the goals that are aspired by the student. Building on this, the design of the classes is guided by the European reference system for languages, covering the required content leading to a specific/desi red degree of knowledge in the language.

I have tutored students and adult people during the last few years as a side occupation to my studies in environmental engineering.
Those teaching experiences have taken place in Germany, but also in Colombia. I have worked with native speakers as well as non-native speakers, on different levels of proficiency. I have further taught groups of students in dance and hosted workshops.

I am a graduated master of science in environmental engineering and
have a language proficiency of C1 in English and Spanish.
Extended periods of studies in Colombia, Nicaragua and Indonesia helped me develop valuable intercultural skills.

Q: How does your teaching schedule look like?
A: My teaching schedule is currently based on the UTC+1 time zone in Germany and based on the student's choice and my occupation, lessons can be held between 7 am and 9 pm.
Q: What is your payment and cancellation policy?
A: The payment takes before the lesson(s). A lesson can be cancelled any day of the week up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled time without any cost as long as a free slot is available within the next two weeks, otherwise 50% of the lesson cost is charged.
