When it comes to lessons, I prefer teaching conversation. However, for the beginner it is crucial to learn basic grammar first and then start with easy and very common phrases useful in daily conversations . After few weeks we will start practicing conversation on a daily basis and I believe it is important to speak the language your are trying to learn as much as possible, even if it is difficult at the beginning.
Nontheless, I still think only conversation is not enough, you have to listen to the language as much as you can, therefore I will recommend number of slovak movies (or international ones with accurate slovak dubbing), as well as podcast you can listen to everyday.

I am native speaker offering slovak language lessons for beginners to advanced students. I am currently living in Copenhagen, but often travelling back to Slovakia, so even though I prefer online lessons, I am flexible. I prefer teaching day-to-day conversation as I believe this is the most useful and relevant approach. You need to use the language on a daily basis and keep trying to speak everyday. Slovak language is very difficult, but beautiful and if you keep trying you will see the progress within several weeks.
