    Teaching Approach

Our method is based on the communicative approach and the multiple intelligence theory. According to the first one, although grammar is necessary, it is not the main focus. Both teachers and students pay attention to all the abilities: writing, listening, reading and last but not least SPEAKING. The latter theory suggests that all humans are able to learn a second language and it is the teacher's responsibilit y to adapt their teaching program to meet all the types of intelligence of their students.
Our teachers are native speakers, fully qualified with years of experience teaching languages and have excellent feedbacks from their students. Our lessons are fun and will get you speaking Spanish from the very first day. You'll constantly be encouraged to use Spanish in life-like situations.

    Program Description

All our courses are made up of small groups ranging from 4 to 8 students, which provides an ideal learning atmosphere. Less than 4 limits the exposure to many real life situations. Activities that increase the involuntary use of the language such as debates and competitions would be almost impossible to develop. On the other hand, with more than 8 people it is difficult for the teacher to focus on each student's weaknesses and strengths and there is less chance for each student to practice their new language skills.

    Teaching Experience

All teachers have at least a Masters in Education and 5 years experience

    Frequently Asked Questions

I found a cheaper course, why should I enrol with you?

When looking for a language school the price is usually based on the number of students in the class. Quite simply, the cost can come down dramatically if the course is crammed with students. Most of our classes only have 6 students (with NEVER more than 8) because with more than that the students would rarely get a chance to practice their new language skills. Be very mindful of institutes offering classes with group sizes of 12 or more as in educational research this is classified as a lecture in which you will spend most of your time simply listening to others.

What type of Spanish do we learn?

This is another excellent question for anyone thinking about taking up Spanish. From a grammatical point of view we highlight the major differences between Latin American Spanish and that from Spain. However all of our teachers are Colombian for a very good reason. Like the Spanish version of the American news channel CNN, we have followed advice based on research from Harvard University that the Spanish from Colombia is “the easiest to understand and learn”. Certain accents and dialects from some Spanish speaking countries are incomprehensi ble to others – the Spanish you'll learn with us is the closest there is to a “universal” version.

Are the teachers qualified, or are they just native speakers?

Again this is very important as the biggest factor as to how much you learn on your course will be how qualified and experienced your teacher is. The ability to facilitate the greatest amount of learning in a group is a highly specialised skill and for this reason all of our teachers have at least a Masters in Education and 5 years of teaching behind them.

Is there a discount for couples or family members?

Yes. Couples or groups of family members that enrol at the same time for the same course will receive a 10% discount on our group course price.

    What time do classes start?

Most of our group classes take place during weekday evenings as many of our students like to come straight from work. The earlier class runs from 5.45 pm to 7.15 pm while the later session goes from 6.30 pm until 8 o'clock. Please send us information for your preference and we'll send you details on upcoming groups.

I've done some Spanish in the past but I'm not sure of my level?

No worries. Call us and arrange for one of out teachers to carry out an informal assessment either face to face or on the phone so that we can make sure you're in the right group.
