I have a BSc in Psychology. During my undergraduate in BSc Psychology I learnt the way we develop and learn as children underpins our entire lifespan. We explored learning, memory, thinking and language, and the problems encountered by young people in education - things like learning difficulties and social or emotional problems. I studied the core areas of cognitive, social, psychobiology and developmental psychology.
I have taught French at all levels, businesspeopl e, high school, elementary and pre-school. I have taught at language colleges, schools, after school clubs and private tutoring. I have used different methods such as: the direct approach, the audiolingual, the communicative approach and more. I find the use of music and the method of movement to enforce memory particularly effective. I have also taught a year 5 subjects in English such as English, Maths, Science and Art.
All of these experiences and methods will be a great ressource in helping students to grasp the language.

2 015-2016 Teaching assistant/ Stonebridge Primary School, Shakespeare Avenue, NW10 8NG, London
I worked at a Primary School as a teaching assistant SEN (special educational needs). My duties included caring for the children in the class, assisting with lessons in all subjects and projects. Managing the children’s behaviour through discipline, play and interaction. I assigned and marked homework as well as marking other work. I taught French to the class, designing the lessons and choosing the methods to use independent of any assistance. It was my responsibilit y to care exclusively for a boy with ASD. I helped him with his work and had to regulate the balance between assisting and letting him find his own path, as each ASD child is unique and their action plan will be different. I wrote and kept daily reports on what he did and how he did it, commenting on his social skills progression as well as his academic, keeping careful records of all his achievements. I liaised with the teacher, the SENCO, deputy head teachers and the pupil’s parents. I am proud to say that with my professionali sm and effort the SEN student I cared for not only improved in his social skills but also recorded in spelling tests and other assignments not just the mean average of the class but often exceeded it by reaching scores in the top percentage of the class. It was hard but very satisfying work.

As well as caring for the transportatio n, feeding, and other tasks it was my duty to assist with teaching the children French, assist with any homework assignments, manage and educate social skills and behaviours including administering of discipline. I helped the children with reading assignments and encouraged them to learn and develop using play and sports. The boy’s parents commented on the dramatic improvement to their behaviour in the time I cared for them, and were impressed with how quickly and how much the youngest had learnt French words.

I taught French to Primary school and Pre-school aged students at an after school club. These younger children’s behaviour needed close monitoring. I used various techniques such as songs, dances, flashcards and games to teach. All the children progressed at their own speed and level, but together.
