Lessons will mainly focus on a situational method (a.k.a. pragmatic approach) depending on the learner's area of interest/spec ific need - business, leisure, culture... Every situation set is meant to bring up a specific subject (be it grammatical, conversationa l, linguistic, or cultural) and will contain relevant items - words, tense(s), idiomatic expressions, etc.
Special stress is put on pronounce and social interaction with the help of multimedia (including but not limited to: excerpts from Italian movies, TV shows, songs).

Dear Students,
It is always a pleasure to any Italian and especially to myself knowing that someone from a foreign land is interested in our language and I consider a true privilege to help you delve into the many aspects and facets of Italian, a language that sinks its roots into Latin and ancient Greek, which makes Italian probably the richest language on Earth (colloquial vocabulary alone is made up of 47,000 words!). Don't be frightened however, learning a language, no matter how complex it may be, can (and has to) be fun, that's why the atmosphere during my lessons are relaxed and informal and focused on what the student is doing RIGHT, rather than what he/she is doing wrong. Making mistakes is integral part of the natural learning process and, as long as we can learn from our mistakes, they are welcome.
Bef ore tackling the learning process however, it is important to determine what your level of Italian knowledge is. A multiple-answ er test will therefore taken and, based on the result a curriculum can be created.
A lesson's duration is 60 minutes.

Teaching Experience

|
After graduating in English literature, I have worked eight years as a sportswriter/ sportscaster, contributing with various periodic magazines and local radio/TV stations.
At the same time I worked as Sales Account Manager for a few major multinational companies for an aggregate 28 years. However, the call of languages made me want to go back to my first love, so I decided to become a freelance translator and a help to foreign students attending university in my home town in Italy, which made me discover the vocation for teaching Italian, so earlier this year I have enrolled to an Italian Teaching Course to earn my CEDILS (Italian Teaching to Foreign Learners) certificate.
In addition to being an Italian native speaker, I am ESOL C2 Level certified English speaker
